Humanitarian Organizations
- Brookings Backpack Project
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of 'Tis a Gift: Christmas by Guitar are donated to BBP, which assists children and youth in Brookings, SD, who are at risk of hunger by discreetly providing them with nutritious and easy-to-prepare meals and snacks for weekends and school vacations during the academic year. By helping to sustain these students until school resumes, BBP seeks not only to meet their nutritional needs but also to promote their physical, cognitive and social development, and to enhance their overall sense of well-being. Phyllis is on the planning team that formed BBP in the summer of 2009.
