A Call to My Friends in the Brookings Area

If you’re at all concerned about the impacts of climate change, here and around the world, I need your help.

At 5pm on Tuesday, November 19th, in the Community Room at the City Government Center (520 3rd Street), the Brookings City Council will hear a 10-minute presentation by area residents concerned about local sustainability in the face of climate change. The presentation will feature remarks by three knowledgeable SDSU faculty members: Dr. Mark Cochrane, Dr. Trisha Jackson and Dr. Jihong Cole-Dai (yep, that’s my hubby!). It will be followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer session.

We need as many people as possible to attend this event, in order to encourage our local government to be more responsive to the challenges posed by climate change. We urge you to stand with us. Thus far, the Council has shown great reluctance to even discuss such matters, let alone act. We need the pubic to turn out in numbers at this “study session” to make a powerful statement.

If you can attend, or if you can’t attend but wish to express your support, please sign up at this link. (Please, Brookings-area residents only. Thanks.)

Please come, and also help spread the word!
