Peacemaking

My Sisters

By July 14, 2014February 24th, 2018No Comments
Just love these women peacemakers. This photo was taken yesterday here in Brookings, SD, from my vantage point at the end of the line. Our “Stand of Peace” group (which does have some male members!) has been standing briefly in silent vigil at the corner of 6th St. & Main at 1pm every Sunday for years now, regardless of the weather. These are my “elder sisters,” Florence, Susan, Karla and Connie (left to right). They’re such an inspiration, and dear friends. On our best days we get more “thumbs up” from passersby than we get ‘the finger.” But every Sunday is a good day.

Deep peace,
