Some Images from My Research Trip to Rhode Island

A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Rhode Island to do further research into the early life and times of Sarah F. Brown Wakefield, whose fictional biography I’m now writing. Though the evidence is rather sketchy, most scholars believe that Sarah was born in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, around 1829. I’ve accepted their collective wisdom, despite some misgivings, and have gone on to learn as much as possible about that Sarah F. Brown.

The low point of my trip was leaving my laptop in Boston Logan Airport on my return trip (happily resolved, I’m fortunate to say). Otherwise my trip was very productive. I had a great time.

I was ready to give up in my search for the graveyard, then saw this.

Click here to see some photos and learn a little about my experiences in Rhode Island. So far the photo album focuses on the Brown family graveyard, which I located in some woods, and my stay in a historic “hotel” on the coast of Narragansett Bay. (Captions are included.) More photos on other subjects still to come.
